Name originThe cargo division carries the name of its parent, Korean Air, with the word Cargo added to describe the freight service. Korean Air itself took that name in 1984, when it changed from Korean Air Lines.Wikipedia says Asiana was formed by the Kumho Asiana Group (then Kumho Group) as Seoul Air International, but the sources used here do not explain where the name Asiana comes from. It looks like a blend of "Asia" with a Korean-sounding ending, which is only an observation, not a documented origin.
