| Name origin | The Imperatore brothers began as Imperatore Bros. Moving and Trucking in 1947, then bought the name and two trucks of A&P Trucking Corp. After legal wrangling with the A&P grocery chain in the 1950s, they added a trailing A to make A-P-A. | The name appears to combine the initials AJF with a plain description of the business, trailer leasing. No source consulted explains what the initials stand for, so the page does not guess. |
