Name originThe name is Portuguese for National Motor Factory. It was a state-created company, founded in 1942 under President Getúlio Vargas, so the name describes its role as a national engine and vehicle maker. Its trucks were nicknamed "Fenemê", the spoken form of the initials. The name is descriptive. Action Construction Equipment says what the company makes, and the logo shortens it to the initials ACE. Wikipedia does not explain why the word Action was chosen.
