Top 10 Most Expensive Lamborghinis in the World at Auction: Analysis
The Veneno Wins on Scarcity
The Veneno Roadster's nine-car production run gives it a different collector profile from the Miura. Its Swiss auction total comfortably leads even after all foreign currencies are converted on one date. The Lamborghini emblem ties both generations to the same marque, but their rarity takes different forms.
The Miura Market Rewards Individual Histories
The SV results span preserved cars, major restorations and a special-order dry-sump example. The P400 S at $4.08 million equivalent shows how condition and provenance can narrow the gap between versions. Our most expensive Ferraris use auction totals too; these prices describe particular cars, not every example of a model.
Important context
- Each row represents a distinct auction car; repeated Miura names refer to different chassis.
- Original currencies remain visible beside the normalized dollar comparison.
- The later SV dominates, but a preserved and restored P400 S also enters the list.
FAQ: Top 10 Most Expensive Lamborghinis in the World at Auction
Which Lamborghini is the most expensive at auction?
The Veneno Roadster at Bonhams Bonmont in September 2019 sold for CHF8,280,000. It leads the completed bidding results documented here.
Why does the list repeat the Miura?
Each row is a different individual car. Combining all Miuras into one model would conceal the large differences between specific auction results.
Are these original US-dollar sale prices?
US sales retain their published dollar totals. CHF, GBP and EUR sales are translated at ECB reference rates dated 9 October 2026 for one consistent comparison; their original totals remain in the table.
Does the list include private or post-auction deals?
No. It compares successful auction bidding results with published totals. Private sales and agreements reached after an unsold bidding round are excluded.
Sources & methodology
Rank ten distinct cars by published completed auction totals including applicable buyer premiums, with results through August 2026. Exclude estimates, unsold bids, private sales and post-auction agreements. All non-USD totals use ECB rates dated 9 October 2026: EUR1 = USD1.1206 = CHF0.9313 = GBP0.84763. Multiply EUR by 1.1206; divide CHF or GBP by its euro rate before multiplying. These are normalized USD equivalents, not historic dollar payments or inflation-adjusted prices. Table and numeric chart both round to USD0.01 million; ordering uses unrounded conversions. Entry photos are explicitly identified model illustrations, not evidence of the auction chassis.
