The 8 Most Successful Tire Manufacturers in Formula 1 History: Analysis
Why Pirelli edges Goodyear
Pirelli overtook Goodyear because it has kept supplying since 2011, while Goodyear stopped at the end of 1998. The gap is only five wins, so the order could change only if Pirelli adds to its total, which it can do and Goodyear cannot.
Totals reflect era and exclusivity
Sole-supplier years inflate totals, because every winner uses the same tyre. That helps Pirelli and Bridgestone, and explains why Michelin’s 102 wins come from two competitive spells. Older suppliers such as Continental and Englebert were active only in the 1950s.
Our verdict
Editorial verdict
Pirelli is the most successful Formula 1 tyre supplier by wins, with Goodyear essentially level. Bridgestone is clear third, and the remaining suppliers span the sport’s early decades or two short spells.

Pirelli, with 373 Grand Prix wins on its tyres as of the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix.

Sources & methodology
Grand Prix wins scored on each supplier’s tyres, as listed in a Formula 1 tyre reference table covering 1950 to the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, cross-checked where possible against STATS F1. Wins are credited to the supplier whose tyres the winner used. Small differences between sources are possible.
